Did someone say French toasts! We arent done creating some decadent options yet. So here we are with a Tiramisu French Toast and a Gulab Jamun one (Indian sweet – vegan GJ recipe here).

Jump to Recipe

Some more Tiramisu goodness- Tir Cookie , Tir Pancakes!

Bread slices dipped in chocolate and coffee batter and pan fried, brushed with maple mixed with coffee and liquor of choice, Topped with cashew cream(no soaking needed) and shaved chocolate for a Tiramisu-ish French Toast. yummm. Adjust sweet to taste.

Wait there is more! A Gulab Jamun french Toast. Maple syrup or sugar syrup, warmed and spiced with cardamom powder and saffron strands or powder, Bread slices pan fried as is, then drenched in the warm maple syrup. Platter these in prettily and these can pass as a fusion dessert!

Easy to put together, healthier than the dessert version, and fun to serve for a lazy breakfast or dessert. I’d serve the GJ one with some chopped up ripe Mango.. mmmm. mmmm. We used to eat loads of different varieties of ripe Mangoes from local farms, all through Spring and Summer. Some thing that I miss a lot here. Mangoes go well with cardamom and saffron and hence with the crunchy GJ toasts. These french toasts can be made with any of my vegan breads or gf breads. The french Toasts can also be used to disguise a dense multigrain bread. There are days when I end up with one of those too:).

In case you missed last week’s French Toast deliciousness!

I think the next one will be a savory one. Check out one of my fave savory French toasts with Chickpea flour here.

i feel like having both the french toasts right from the laptop 🙂

i do not have maple syrup. i think these french toasts would go very well with pureed mangoes, pineapple or blueberry preserve. i can only think of pairing them with these as this what i have at home right now.

    1. Richa says:

Thanks Dassana. you can use any sweet syrup, sugar syrup or preserve!:)
