Easy fudge for today! Ripe bananas + maple + melted chocolate! Add some cookie dough and this is a treat! This is a very fudgy fudge because of the bananas and maple. Omit maple syrup for a more set fudge.

Instructions

  • Make cookie dough balls and keep aside.
  • mash the bananas really well or blend them.
  • Add the mashed banana to a pan with the maple syrup and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until bubbly.
  • Remove from heat. Add vanilla and chocolate let sit for a minute then whisk until the chocolate melts fully and the mixture is smooth. Taste carefully and add ground sugar if you like it sweeter and mix in. You might not need any if you use semi sweet chocolate chips.
  • Drop batter on parchment and spread with a spatula. Place cookie dough balls and press in.
  • Freeze for an hour or more, slice and serve. Store in the freezer. Let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.
  • For variations, add gingerbread spices, pepper mint or bourbon to the melted chocolate. 🙂

If this fudge was around me right now.. there would not be any of it left! I have no self control when it comes to anything with cookie dough.. so this is a very dangerous recipe!

I am celiac. I am confused about Uncle Bob’s Gluten Free bag of oats. I don’t see “Wheat Free” on the bag…..I do see it is made along with products that manufacture soy….more confusion. I can’t eat soy and get a strong reaction from it (I wish I didn’t, sigh….) I have tried this product and get a reaction from it…. It isn’t wheat free I am guessing, and that is why it is not marked “Wheat Free” along with the “Gluten Free” sign on the front of the package.

Can you advise why the package is marked ‘made in a dedicated facility’, when it is made in the same facility that processes soy products??

    1. Richa says:

Hi Pat, Oats can get easily contaminated with wheat or gluten between growing, processing to packaging, hence causing problem for people sensitive to gluten. I think by “dedicated facility” they mean that the facility is gluten/wheat free so the oats are not contaminated by gluten. I think they are focusing on gluten contamination (for celiac). hence a dedicated gluten-free facility but not dedicated just oats facility. That means they probably process other ingredients there like soy or nuts etc that are not gluten, but can be allergens to some. I guess for completely uncontaminated Oats, they would have to write “processed in dedicated only Oat processing facility” or something like that.
you can write to bob’s red mill about it.

Yum! I was just thinking about your cookie dough. I love it just as it is, but I may have to gild the lily and amp it up with this. This would be so much fun. I never buy readymade fudge, but homemade is different. What a treat for the holidays!
